Dysfunction/pathology relating to the intervertrebral discs that sits between each vertebra of the spine. The discs may become dehydrated, deformed or prolapsed nucleus. Dysfunction may be related to acute trauma or slow developing degeneration. Characterised by local pain that can often radiate to the buttocks and legs, inflammation, reduced range of movement, and aggravated by weight-bearing and exercise.
